1. Brownsberg nature park
Those who like to have an impression of the Interior of Suriname, does well to visit this nature reserve. This small park is often visited for its fantastic views of the nearby Brokopondo reservoir. The natural park, which is also part of the Amazon rainforest, has a size of about twelve thousand hectares and has among other medicinal plants, waterfalls, deer, wild boars, macaws and howler monkeys.
2. Paramaribo
In the North of Suriname on the west bank of the Suriname River lies the capital Paramaribo. The old historic centre has many wooden houses. The Dutch traces are to be found here. Alone in the street names. Very special are the adjacent to the mosque and synagogue keizerstraat. The most visited attractions are the Fort Zeelandia Fort Nieuw-Amsterdam, Nola Hatterman Institute/Academy of Arts, Culture, independence square, Paramaribo Zoo and the Presidential Palace with its Palm Grove.

3. Colacreek
Especially with families and young people is this piece of recreation area hugely popular. The Brown (cola-coloured) water makes for delicious cool down in the warm Suriname. There are some dining options for a simple lunch and for children there is a slide. For a small fee there are water cycling, swimming tires and water hammocks for rent.
4. Domburg
In this village, which is not far from Paramaribo is located, is a quiet and cosy atmosphere. It has a small market which is dominated by solid trees and many food and beverage outlets. On Sunday, this is the scene for the weekly market. In the small port are often quietly a few boats bobbing. Between Domburg and Paranam is a popular beach located on the White Beach Marina Resort. Often people are feasting on weekends here. During the day it is a popular beach for families.
5. Brokopondostuwmeer
This immense Lake belongs to one of the largest artificial lakes in the world. The aluminum factory was ever built to power in Paranam. After closing this enterprise become the generated electricity consumed in much of Paramaribo. Although many of the original inhabitants have had to give way to this project, there are still a number of ' Maroon ' populations that still live there. Mostly they live according to the rules of nature and all it has to offer.
